Tomorrow will see the 2016 annual speed trap marathon . Starting 6 o’clock a.m. thousands of policemen and women will grab their gear and hunt for speeders in Germany and other European countries . However, unlike the last years, police in some German states have said that they won’t be taking part this year, giving reasons like “Hasn’t proven to be effective in reducing accident deaths”, “We have better stuff to do”, “I’m too old for this shit”, whatever. The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, by incident also my current employer, issued a similar statement. Only to start one day early and have them do it today. Sneaky!

Germans have a far better way of doing it... there are a few women that will go out and stand topless a few hundred meters in from of the Polizei with signs warning motorists of a speed trap... if you don't slow down after that... you deserve a speeding ticket.
